OATS, Inc. Celebrates Lincoln County Driver for 15 Years of Service

March 31, 2010

Fifteen years ago Roxana Heidbrier sent her children off to kindergarten and decided she wanted something to keep her busy while they were in school. She also knew that she needed a job that would understand and work around her commitment as a mother. OATS was the perfect solution.

“I wanted a job but didn’t want to sacrifice opportunities to participate with my kids – field Roxana Heidbriertrips, Valentine’s Day parties – these were things I didn’t want to miss,” says Roxana. “OATS has always been very flexible and willing to work with my schedule.” Roxana says they even work around the summer job she has had since before coming to work for OATS.

As a driver for Lincoln County, Roxana is described as very hospitable to her riders, energetic and a good team player who always works well with other drivers. Roxana says her co-workers are one of her favorite parts about the job. “They are the best I’ve ever worked with anywhere. We all work together to get people to their destination; we’re all on the same team.”

When asked what else has kept Roxana at OATS for fifteen years she cites the variety, saying that every day brings different riders. “A good driver must be patient and adaptable, because things change every day and can also change at the last minute.”

In her spare time, Roxana loves anything having to do with the outdoors. Each summer, she works as a lifeguard and canoeing instructor at the Girl Scout Camp where her family lives. She also loves animals, camping and making maple syrup in the fall.

Riders Mary and Rudolph McCann from Troy say, “Roxana is understanding, sympathetic to riders with problems, very helpful, respectful and courteous. She loves her job, and goes beyond her duties as a driver. All her riders love her, and look forward to shopping days with Roxana.”
