OATS Transit receives grant from Truman Heartland Community Foundation

OATS Transit received a grant from the Truman Heartland Community Foundation totaling $9,000. These grant funds will be used toward the purchase of a new bus for the Lee’s Summit Missouri area to provide rides to those in need.

OATS Transit provides transportation for work, medical appointments, essential shopping, nutrition and other needs to individuals with disabilities, seniors, and rural residents of any age. In partnership with the City of Lee’s Summit and Kansas City Area Transit Authority, OATS Transit also operates the Ride KC buses in Lee’s Summit.

Truman Heartland Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity committed to improving the communities in and around Eastern Jackson County through partnerships with community members and donors. Truman Heartland serves the region with assets of more than $50 million and annual grants surpassing $4.8 million.

“We are grateful that organizations like Truman Heartland are dedicated to giving back to the communities they serve,” said Dorothy Yeager, Executive Director of OATS Transit. “Without the support from the Community Foundation, our transportation service would not be possible."
