OATS Transit receives grant from Boonville Community Foundation Legacy Fund

(Columbia, Missouri, December 10, 2024) – OATS Transit, a Missouri based not-for-profit transportation provider, announces that they have received a grant from the Boonville Community Foundation Legacy Fund.  The $2,500 was awarded for transit service in Boonville and Cooper County area to support rural general public transportation. The funds will be used toward providing rides for the community.

A grant awards ceremony was held on December 5th at the Isle of Capri in Boonville to present checks to OATS Transit and several other organizations.  Administrative Director Jill Stedem was on hand for the presentation. OATS Transit provides routine transportation that originates and/or stops in Boonville MO, as well as trips into Columbia for specialty appointments and other needs. Our transportation is vital to the Missouri economy, and helps residents live independently in their own communities.

“Thanks to the Boonville Community Foundation, this grant allows us to match our federal grants with local dollars,” said Dorothy Yeager, Executive Director at OATS Transit. “We are grateful to the Community Foundation for their continued support so we can continue being there for those who need us.  Transit service is not only a lifeline to the riders, but also benefits businesses who need us to get customers to them” added Yeager.
